Professor Michael Sabbath received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1972, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1975, where he served as an editor of the Emory Law Journal and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned an LL.M. degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1985. Michael worked from 1975-1978 in the litigation section at the Atlanta law firm of Jones, Bird & Howell (now Alston & Bird), and has been teaching at Mercer University School of Law since 1978. He also has been a visiting professor at Emory University School of Law, Wake Forest University School of Law, and at the University of Georgia School of Law. Michael was the associate dean at Mercer University School of Law from 1995-2002, and served as the law school's interim dean from 2002-2004. He currently teaches in the areas of contracts, commercial law, and bankruptcy, and has done writing and speaking in these areas. He has served the State Bar of Georgia as Reporter for the Subcommittees on Uniform Commercial Code Articles 2A and 4A, as well as revised Articles 3, 4 and 8.
