Mark Hoch is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law (LL.M.), the University of Cincinnati College of Law (J.D.), and the University of Colorado at Boulder (B.A., Environmental Biology), and twice received fellowships in public international law and human rights. Professor Hoch was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones on the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and a Mediator in the Hamilton County (OH) Court system. He is celebrating twenty years in legal education in 2023, having been the former Assistant Dean of Academic Success at the Charleston School of Law and directed or co-directed Academic Success and Bar Preparation Programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Additionally, he is a long-time professor of Legal Writing, Research and Analysis, which he has taught at the Louisiana State University Law Center, University of Northern Kentucky Chase College of Law, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, Savannah Law School and now as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Mercer Law. His research focuses on creating new, targeted learning strategies for enhanced understanding and skills development for law students at every learning level.
