What to Consider When Selecting an AI Tool

Data Security
- An AI tool should comply with industry standards for data protection.
- You should be able to easily find information about data protection on the company website.
Firm Needs
- Does the tool suit your firm's needs or is there the ability to customize the AI tool to suit specific legal needs.
- AI tools should help you accomplish the tasks you want to work on the most, or
- Allow you to automate routine tasks to free your time for higher level tasks.
Ease of Use
- Is the interface user-friendly? A tool should be intuitive and easy to navigate; this will save a lot of time and avoid frustration.
- Avoid:
  - Tools with bad interfaces
  - Tools where reviews mentions bug or frequent crashes
  - Tools that take a lot of initial time to train on
Integration
- Seamless integration with existing legal software and systems is important. The AI tool should complement your workflow rather than disrupt it.
- Maintain a list of the software you use in your legal practice so you can ask about integration with any AI tool you are considering.
Accuracy and Reliability
- Does the tool provide accurate results in legal research, contract analysis, and other tasks.
Vendor Reputation
- Take a look at the reputation of an AI vendor. Does the company get good reviews and does their product receive positive reviews?
